The Red Vine is considered especially useful in menopausal disorders, to avoid blood loss, due to its content in polyphenolic derivatives, flavonoids and tannins.

Witch hazel flavonoids, due to their vasoconstrictor action, help to stop uterine bleeding, due to the hormonal imbalance of the menopause stage. The isoquinoline (fumarin) from Fumaria seems to contribute to the same effect.
