Properties and benefits of Coenzyme Q10

It can be synthesized in the body, production decreases as we age. In fact, the lack of energy in older people may, in part, be related to a lower production of CoQ10 in the body.

Statins (to lower cholesterol) have also been shown to lower CoQ10 levels in the body, which is why people taking statins are increasingly recommended to take a supplement of it.
