Description
Food supplement based on the amino acid L-lysine and Monolaurin.
Properties and benefits of L-lysine & monolaurin
Essential amino acids, such as l-lysine, are not produced by the body and must be obtained through the diet or with food supplements. These amino acids have influence in broad fields, from emotional care to physical performance.
The free form of the amino acid l-lysine is designed to play a primary role in protein synthesis, it is one of the constituent elements of all proteins, as well as in cognitive care, the immune system and gastrointestinal function. It is needed for normal growth and bone development in children, helps calcium absorption, and maintains nitrogen balance in adults. Helps produce antibodies, hormones and enzymes.
It is also helpful in maintaining collagen and elastin. Lysine supports the immune system, cognitive and gastrointestinal function, joint and bone function, and healthy skin.
Monolaurin, known as glycerol monolaurate (GML), is a monoester formed from glycerol and lauric acid. Lauric acid is a 12-carbon medium chain saturated fatty acid. The richest dietary source of GML is coconut oil, but it is also found in breast milk and to a lesser extent in palm oil.
Although the body can convert lauric acid to GML through enzymatic activity, it is not known how much of this process actually occurs and its metabolism and properties are still being studied. Lauric acid is the main antiviral and antibacterial agent in breast milk..
