Precautions

It should be taken preferably in the morning, as it can sometimes disturb sleep. High serine levels can unbalance other amino acids in the body. Foods that cause brain allergies like peanuts, gluten, or soy are high in serine. High doses of this amino acid have immunosuppressive effects and can even cause psychosis. It should not be used if you are taking blood thinners such as warfarin, nor with an excess of foods rich in this amino acid (meat, fish, dairy, eggs, legumes, brown rice, seeds, whole grains).
