Description
The Syrup of Yacon BIO by Ecoidees is a delicious sweetener with unique properties because it consists essentially of Fructo-Oligosaccharides. It is therefore a prebiotic with a low glycemic index. Yacon also known as "earth pear" is a tuberous perennial, parent of Jerusalem artichoke and sunflower. It grows spontaneously in the Andean regions (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, etc.), in mountain areas around 2000m above sea level. Some people eat it as a fruit.
