Description
Unsalted raw tahini is a cream made with ground sesame seeds and with it different very tasty and nutritious recipes are made.
Indication
Sesame seeds are a great source of vitamins and minerals, which provide us with a large amount of energy and help us in the metabolism of food.
It can be used raw as the seeds are (the most advisable) or toasted. In order for them to provide us with their nutrients, it is necessary that we take them ground since if we take them whole they pass through our digestive system and their nutrients are not absorbed.
With carefully ground sesame seeds, a delicious sesame cream called Tahín is made, which maintains the properties of the seeds and with which different very tasty and nutritious recipes are prepared.
Intake mode
It is recommended to follow the following steps to be able to consume:
- Cook the chickpeas with salt for 1 hour. Drain the chickpeas (Reserve a cup of the cooking water).
- Pass the chickpeas through a blender or processor with the cooking water until creating a homogeneous puree.
- Skip this step, in the case of using already cooked chickpeas.
- Add the Tahin, the peeled and crushed garlic cloves (or the garlic powder), add the lemon juice and the tablespoon of salt.
- Mix for 3-5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a deep plate to serve, and create a hole in the center of the hummus.
- Add a small amount (1-2 tablespoons) of virgin olive oil.
- Garnish with the parsley (optional).
