Description
Quinoa is a 5,000-year-old pseudocereal, its consumption has been increasing in popularity due to its nutritional profile, it contains a high percentage of proteins compared to cereals in general, its carbohydrates are of a low glycemic index.
Indication
Red Quinoa is more aromatic and crunchy than white, and also stands out for the touch of color that it usually gives to the various dishes in which it is used, without losing any of the benefits of common quinoa. The red quinoa was known by the name of Inca Red, since it was used by the Inca soldiers, because they believed that the red color would give them strength during battles.
Intake mode
It is recommended to wash the quinoa before use, to eliminate the bitter taste of the saponin it contains. To cook it, bring two parts of water for each one of the grain to a boil, add the quinoa, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. After resting for another 5 minutes, gently separate the grains with a fork, and it is ready to serve.
