Properties and benefits of Hydrolate Lavender
Hydrolates are distilled plant waters. They are obtained by steam distillation of various parts of aromatic plants. It consists of the aqueous phase recondensed and separated from the essential oil when there is.
During the steam distillation process, aromatic hydrolates are typically harvested over a period of one hour, so that the richness of the aromatic hydrolate provides an important and characteristic fragrance of the distilled aromatic plant. Some, in order to obtain extreme profitability, harvest volumes of distillation water for much longer periods (3 to 4 hours) but the product does not have the same interest as a treatment because its effectiveness is very poor compared to a true authentic hydrolate and concentrated.
Unlike essential oils obtained by the same extraction process, aromatic hydrolates contain, in addition to aromatic and terpenic molecules, other molecules of a different nature. In fact, the steam extracts other active ingredients that, being hydrophilic, are found in the hydrolate. Its composition is, therefore, particular and unique.
How to apply Hydrolate Lavender?
