Properties and benefits of Shea butter

P roperties:

This solid butter melts easily in your hands before application. It can also be melted in a water bath to make balms or masks. It has protective, emollient, regenerating and nourishing properties.

Profits:

At the beginning of pregnancy it is very useful if applied to the abdomen and hips. For babies, it is ideal in case of dry or damaged skin. At any age, shea butter is an exceptional ally whenever tissue repair is necessary.

How to apply Shea butter?

It is recommended for face and hair:

  • For the face and body, an almond (or more for the body) of shea butter should be applied, massaging from bottom to top.
  • For hair, apply all over hair, cover with a warm towel, leave for 20 minutes, or even better overnight, then wash hair with a mild shampoo.

Precautions

It should only be used externally. Keep out of reach of small children.

Storage conditions

The container should be kept in a cool and dry place.

Composition of Shea butter

A little less than half monounsaturated fatty acids (omega 9). More than 50% saturated fatty acids (especially stearic acid, a purifying acid well tolerated by skin and hair). Rich in unsaponifiable lipids.
