Precautions

Not recommended in pregnant or lactating women. Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after any other medication. Astragalus may potentiate the effects of acyclovir, interleukin-2, and interferon-α and may be incompatible with immunosuppressive and anticoagulant agents. Caution and supervision is advised in patients receiving phenobarbital and ß-blockers (such as propanolol).
People under treatment with oral hypoglycemic agents, blood glucose levels should be monitored while taking the supplement.
