Centinodia (Polygonum aviculare) facilitates diuresis of the urinary tract, helps to eliminate pathogenic bacteria from the urinary tract, decreases bacterial fixation on the walls of the urinary tract and promotes well-being in the urinary tract (EFSA ON HOLD 4462). EMA monographs also acknowledge its usefulness for urinary tract care.

Proanthocyanidins (PACs) are flavonoids that are found in high concentrations in cranberries, and form an anti-adherent film on the epithelia, being especially useful in the urinary tract.

The PACs in Cistomar Forte are measured by the BL-DMAC method, the most recognized for their assessment.

D-Mannose is a type of monosaccharide that is found in human metabolism and is excreted in the urinary tract, where it exerts its effect. D-Mannose shares properties with the American Cranberry.
