How to take Haematonyl?

It is recommended to take 1 capsule once a day during or immediately after meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Under special conditions, the dose can be increased temporarily (around 6 weeks) up to 4 capsules daily. Afterwards it is recommended to control the iron values. In case of difficulty swallowing, the capsule can be opened.

Precautions

Not suitable for children under 1 year. It should not be used in case of hemochromatosis. Iron is a pro-oxidant. Increasing the level of iron in the body can lead to further oxidation of LDL cholesterol and cause more damage to the blood vessels. A high level of iron can also cause other consequences of high radical loading. It is recommended to supplement the therapy with antioxidants. Iron absorption is inhibited by the intake of a high amount of other minerals (especially calcium (milk), magnesium and zinc. Anti-inflammatory medication such as aspirin or ibobrufen can increase iron loss due to intestinal bleeding. Iron absorption is also inhibited by tetracyclines and high doses of aspirin. Insoluble complexes formed from phytates (from cereals), oxalates, other minerals, especially calcium and tannins (tea) can impair iron absorption. Absorption it can also be inhibited by interference with drugs and health products.
