Gla borage evening primrose from CFN is a nutritional supplement rich in omega 6 fatty acids with multiple benefits for the body.
Properties and benefits of Gla Borage Evening Primrose
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) favors the formation of DGLA, an immediate precursor of prostaglandin E1, a ""good"" type of prostaglandin, and thus prevents the imbalance between it and prostaglandin E2, since the latter continue being partially synthesized from dietary arachidic acid (it comes from meat, dairy products and eggs), an imbalance that would cause certain manifestations observed in case of a lack of essential fatty acids.
GLA has been very popular among women, because a correct balance of omega 6 fatty acids can help to occupy part of the estrogen receptors, reducing the estrogenic activity that causes the disorders of the menstrual cycle.
As we have said before, GLA is a precursor of prostaglandin E1, inhibitor of platelet aggregation, inhibitor of reactions of injured tissues and activator of the function of T lymphocytes.
GLA deficiency can cause skin problems, skin aging, etc. For this reason, it has been associated with aging since, at older ages, the delta-6-desaturase enzyme can decrease its activity and affect membrane lipids and prostaglandin production.
