SNS Supplemental Nutrition System
Description
The Medela Supplemental Nutrition System is a supplemental feeding device for infants during lactation. Its intended use is to allow mothers to breastfeed in situations where it would not be possible for them to do so.
Indication
The Medela SNS Supplemental Nutrition System is a supplemental feeding system or better known as a relactator, it is an ideal way to offer supplementary feeding to babies while breastfeeding. The system maintains the unique bond between mother and baby, moving both toward a more satisfying breastfeeding experience. This is achieved by allowing the baby to get the extra milk it needs through the relactator while nursing.
Intake mode
It is recommended to follow the steps indicated in the manual that contains the article, to make correct use of the device.
Clean the parts immediately after use to prevent residual milk from drying out and to prevent the growth of microorganisms. Use only potable water for cleaning. If you clean the SNS parts with boiling water, be careful not to burn yourself. Store cleaned parts in a clean, air-permeable bag or container, or on a clean, air-permeable cloth or paper until ready for use. Do not leave the SNS (or its component parts) in direct sunlight or heat, as parts may weaken
Precautions
The SNS is not a storage device, but a power device. Do not use it to store milk. Baby bottles and plastic parts become brittle when frozen and can break if dropped. Also, bottles and parts can be damaged if mishandled, eg. eg if they are dropped, over-tightened, or tipped over. Take timely care when handling bottles and components
Storage conditions
Store at room temperature, in a cool, dry place protected from light.
