The Medela Special Needs Bottle offers the opportunity to tailor the flow of fluid to the infant's needs. Use the lines on the nipple to determine the flow of liquid. The shortest line corresponds to zero flow; the midline, with a medium flow; the longest streak, with the maximum flow.
Indication
The Special Needs bottle is designed for babies who are unable to create a vacuum due to certain neurological syndromes and disorders, or because they were born with a cleft lip or palate. The Special Needs bottle can be used with nipples of two different sizes
Intake mode
It is recommended that the mother give the first feedings with the SpecialNeeds bottle under the supervision of a trained professional / staff. Always check the temperature of the liquid before feeding the baby. Hold the valve plate with the lip facing up. Place the white membrane on the valve plate, inside the flange. Push the membrane boss all the way through the center hole in the valve plate. Fill the bottle with the required amount of liquid. Place the assembled valve with the lip facing up over the opening of the bottle. Place the nipple on the valve plate so that the lip is inside the nipple. Place the cap on the nipple. Screw all the parts with the cap
