Description
Nutritional yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae) is an inactive yeast grown in molasses, sugar cane and beets. This yeast is fermented, harvested, washed, and subjected to a pasteurization and drying process that renders it inactive.
Indication
It is a food supplement of great value, a source of complete protein and vitamins, being particularly rich in B complex vitamins. It contains folates, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, Iron, Selenium, Magnesium and Zinc, it is low in sodium and fat. It is ideal for people who follow a vegan diet, that is why there is also nutritional yeast enriched with vitamin B12, since this is the only vitamin that vegans need to add to their diet.
Intake mode
It is recommended to be used often as a condiment due to its delicious taste. It has a salty taste reminiscent of walnuts and is often used to emulate the flavor of cheese in vegan dishes and to thicken sauces and dressings. It can also be added to shakes, smoothies and soups, used to gratin pasta dishes or sprinkle it on salad, popcorn.
