Description
Organic barley grain is a good source of energy, especially slow-assimilating carbohydrates and is remineralized due to its potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and phosphorus content.
Indication
The greatest treasure is its trace elements, among which the antioxidant selenium, zinc, manganese and copper stand out, which make it an ideal food in deficiency states. In addition, barley is rich in several vitamins of group B (B1, B3 and B6). Although it does not have as much protein as wheat, its contribution is not negligible (almost 10%). Its soluble fiber, rich in beta glucans, helps support coronary health.
Intake mode
It is recommended to substitute part (or all) of the rice in a recipe for grains of barley. The barley grain is soaked overnight and cooked for 40-50 minutes. Barley flour and semolina are obtained by grinding the grain more or less, they can be easily added to purees, porridges or as a substitute for flours from other cereals, such as wheat. Of course, barley is ideal for making an infinite range of flat breads, where this cereal gives the best of itself.
