Valerian properties

Internally, valerian has a sedative, hypnotic, and antispasmodic effect. And externally, its effects are relaxing, analgesic and anti-inflammatory.

How to take valerian?

Internally, valerian can be administered in powder, capsules, tincture, extract and infusion.

Valerian is usually more effective in small and frequent doses throughout the day (in case of insomnia, start taking one dose in the late afternoon and another 1 hour before bedtime (also relax).

Valerian powerfully attracts cats, because it contains some acids that stimulate their nervous systems, causing them a pleasant and stimulating effect, similar to that produced by the hormones of the cat in heat. Therefore, after smelling or licking this plant, they feel a kind of euphoria comparable to what people feel after consuming certain drugs. Among its symptoms are hallucinations and addiction. In addition to cats, valerian also attracts rats, which is why it has been used as a bait for traps for these animals.
