The pacifier helps to facilitate the sleep of babies, reassure them, stimulate the sucking reflex and is even a natural pain reliever. There are several types of pacifiers that adapt to all needs: from newborn pacifiers, to anatomical or physiological pacifiers, as well as silicone and latex pacifiers. Do you know the types of pacifiers and which one to choose?
Types of pacifiers
Pacifiers are classified by size, shape and material. Pacifier sizes vary with age, we can find pacifiers for newborns from 0 to 3 months, pacifiers for babies from 3 to 6 months or pacifiers for older children up to 18 months.
Regarding the shape, the most common types of pacifiers are anatomical and physiological. The teat of the anatomical pacifiers mimics the shape of the nipple, making them better accepted by babies. In contrast, physiological pacifiers have a flat teat, which presses less on the palate, but not all babies like them.
Latex or silicone pacifier?
Regarding materials, there are latex or rubber pacifiers and silicone or plastic pacifiers. Latex pacifiers are made from natural rubber, so they are more environmentally friendly, but they deteriorate and need to be changed often. For their part, silicone pacifiers last longer, although their manufacture is less sustainable.
At Naturitas you will find all types of pacifiers from the best pacifier brands: Avent pacifiers, Nuby pacifiers, Sophie La Girafe pacifiers ... We have natural rubber pacifiers, soft silicone pacifiers, patterned pacifiers and even glow in the dark pacifiers to find them at night.
